MP visits Broadwater Court
The newly elected Federal Member of Parliament for the electorate of Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid, recently visited Living Choice Broadwater Court to speak to interested residents.
Toni Goddard of Village Administration said Dr Reid was an engaging and enthusiastic speaker who spoke about how he organised his time between working in Canberra, the Central Coast and the emergency hospital at Wyong.
Some of the local issues he informed the audience of were changes to the bulk billing rate for doctors, the idea of integrated health hubs, funding for roads and infrastructures and the National Housing and Homeless Plan. He also spoke about his involvement in international issues such as climate change and the provision of energy supplies to consumers.
Residents were able to ask questions about the repair of the footpath along Bungoona Road and Kincumber Streets, the building of a bus shelter on Avoca Drive opposite the shopping centre, the provision of mental health support and issues relating to Gosford Hospital.
Afterwards, Dr Reid joined residents for a quick refreshment break.
