Being surrounded by like-minded people and beautiful gardens that you don’t have to maintain prompted Bob and Gail White to make the move to Living Choice Glenhaven. Bob and Gail were referred by Glenhaven residents Lesley and Greg Martin, friends they met more than 20 years ago when Bob met Greg on the golf course at Castle Hill Country Club.
Bob and Gail have lived in the Hills District since 1973 and wanted to remain in the area. “We had a large home with a big garden that was becoming difficult to maintain,” said Gail. “We noticed that the demographic in our suburb was changing and many of the gardens were unkempt. We had to think about the next stage of our lives.”
Bob said they accepted an offer on their house shortly before it was due to go to auction, which was a blessing as the State Government banned open homes soon afterwards, due to COVID-19.
Bob and Gail are temporarily staying in an apartment above the leisure centre until a villa becomes available. “The lawns and gardens here are amazing and we love going for walks around the village. The residents are lovely too.”
They share many interests with other residents too, including being members of Probus and playing golf at Castle Hill Country Club. They are looking forward to becoming fully engaged in activities at the village, especially when some of the current COVID-19 restrictions can be eased.
Their friends Lesley and Greg received a $500 Wish Gift Card for referring Bob and Gail to the village and will also go in the draw to win the choice of a $5,000 travel voucher or a $5,000 Harvey Norman gift voucher. Bob and Gail received a $500 Wish Gift Card too which they said was “a big surprise, but very welcome”. They have not decided what to spend it on yet, but Bob suggested a trip to Dan Murphy may be on the cards!
