New Village Manager at the helm at Woodcroft
Ensuring that residents feel valued and respected is the aim of Gail Pounsett who was recently appointed as Village Manager at Living Choice Woodcroft.
“I want to be proactive, keep the lines of communication open and I want to make sure our residents feel important,” says Gail, who has lived in the Southern suburbs of Adelaide for the past 30 years and in Christies Beach for 21 of those years.
Gail has plenty of people skills, having worked in the Real Estate industry for the past 11 years in her role as Property Manager, Sales Agent, Commercial Sales and Leasing agent. “Skills I learnt included managing maintenance staff, conflict resolution, selling homes and moving to new homes, setting up a business and much more, always with the view to achieve the best outcomes for their situations.”
Gail, who has been married to Brian for 34 years and has four children, grew up in the small country town of Tailem Bend and was always drawn to being “part of a community”. “Christies Beach had that real community presence and my role as Chairwoman of the Christies Beach Business & Tourism Association has been an amazing experience. I have been on the executive committee for the past 9 years, working with business owners, retail owners, council, the community and our members.”
Church is also an important part of Gail’s life and she was the first female Elder at the New Life Christian Centre at Christies Beach. “Having been a Christian for 30 years, I love and respect this community and also take an active role in being Ladies’ Leader, Worship Leader and also speak regularly,” she says.
“I really look forward to my new role as Village Manager/Sales Consultant at Living Choice Woodcroft as I believe I will be able to use all of my skills to help facilitate residents’ needs. I look forward to continuing the great work in this area that has already begun.”
