Parkwood Lady Golfers enjoy novelty Christmas competition
Following the postponement of the Parkwood Ladies Christmas Golf Competition recently, the ladies returned to the course on 8th December to play the game “3 Clubs and a Putter”.
Thirty ladies played a novelty Single Stableford event using just 3 Clubs and a Putter rather than the normally permitted 14 clubs. This event suited Lady Captain Christa Green who won the A Grade competition with 33 points and Valerie Bacon who won the B Grade with 36 points.
Nearest to the Pins on Holes 2, 7, and 16 were sponsored by Living Choice Parkwood, with Angie Hackett and Michael Levick setting up a “challenge activation” on the difficult Par 3, 4th hole with all ladies winning a prize.
The course was in excellent condition following the recent rain and mowing of the fairways and rough areas. Bunkers were GUR which was appreciated by all players as a free drop was allowed.
Fortunately, the players were able to complete the game and presentation before a massive storm hit.
Congratulations to the prize-winners:
- Div 1: Winner Christa Green 33 pts; runner-up Donna Rheinberger 32pts.
- Div 2: Winner Val Bacon 36 pts; runner-up Frances Finlayson 31pts
