Parkwood Veteran Golfers embrace American Foursomes event
One hundred and sixteen Parkwood Senior & Veteran Golfers supported the Living Choice sponsored American Foursomes competition at Parkwood Golf Club on 27th September, embracing the fun competition format with enthusiasm.
In American Foursomes, both players play tee shots at each hole, then play a second with their partner’s ball. One ball is then selected and play proceeds as in foursomes with the owner of the ball selected playing the next shot. It can be both fun and nerve-wracking, especially if you hit a wayward shot!
President Allan McDonnell of the Parkwood Veteran Golfers said the good weather and friendly rivalry resulted in a wonderful day of golf. “The golf concluded with free drinks and a great lunch of roast pork and vegetables for all attendees,” he said.
Angelina Hackett of Living Choice attended the prizegiving and presented the four lucky raffle winners with a $50 Coles gift voucher each.
Allan thanked Angie and Living Choice for their ongoing support of the Seniors & Veterans Golf Club at Parkwood and said the golfers were now looking forward to their major event of the year – the Christmas competition on 1st December.
Congratulations to all the winners and special mention to Jeff Ross who had a hole in one.
