Pop-Up art exhibition gets thumbs-up at Fullarton
The “Artists in Residence” at Living Choice Fullarton currently comprise 10 residents and they meet every Tuesday. On 1st and 2nd December, they staged a successful two-day Christmas Pop-Up Art Exhibition, selling 12 paintings and winning over many admirers.
One of those admirers was avid art fan, Unley Councillor Peter Hughes, who popped in on the first day to view the exhibition.
The group’s leader, Jill Argent, said this year they were lucky to obtain sponsorship from local art shop `Art To Art’ on Glen Osmond Rd which enabled them to present two merit awards valued at $50 each.
“Lynn Robins, a very generous artist with her experience and time, was the judge and Jo Chinner and Jan Turner were the first recipients. They will now be able to improve the quality of their art supplies,” said Jill.
“The artists did well for this exhibition, concentrating on smaller sizes and prices, without losing the quality – perfect for Christmas gift buying,” she added.
