Pop-up exhibition attracts art lovers

The “Artists in Residence @ Living Choice” held a pop-up art exhibition in the Great Hall at Living Choice Fullarton on 3rd and 4th December and were delighted to sell 14 of the 36 paintings on show. Their delight was shared by their very proud teacher, Jill Argent OAM who established the art group several years ago.

As her students know, Jill is very professional in her approach to not only teaching art but assessing what is “in vogue” and how to display artworks. The paintings were hung on the new stands that Living Choice recently purchased and, together with the elegant surroundings and magnificent Christmas tree, they presented beautifully.

The “Artists in Residence” group meets once a week in The Studio and the numbers are limited to 10 to ensure everyone has plenty of space to create their art. “I have a waiting list of budding artists keen to join,” said Jill.

Although Jill is known to be strict – and gives her students homework – she says the members have a lot of fun and she has been blown away by their improvement over the years. “Two of my artists have made such good progress that I’ve also encouraged them to join the Burnside Painting Group, which they have done. They also share what they have learnt with our own group members,” she added.

Due to the success of this year’s pre-Christmas exhibition, Jill has already booked the 2022 pop-up exhibition on 1st and 2nd December – art lovers, diarise the dates!
