Prizes galore at Twin Waters Cup event

The Melbourne Cup is Australia’s most famous annual thoroughbred horse race with a 3200-metre race for three-year olds and over.

The first prize handed out in Melbourne Cup history was in 1861 with the prize being 710 gold sovereigns and a gold watch.

The prizes at the Melbourne Cup event held at Living Choice Twin Waters were perhaps not in that league but the sweeps had the residents excited about their prospective win.

The Fashions on the Field entries saw both women and men taking to the floor to win a prize.

Everyone enjoyed the lovely lunch of chicken and salad and finished off the afternoon with more sparkling wine.

Congratulations to the Cup sweep winners of the day, Tina Pietzsch, Glenda Bretton, Graeme Lavender and Joyce Ziesemer.
