Red carpet welcome for first leisure centre apartment resident
After spending most of her life working in community services, Lynda Baird deserves to put her feet up and enjoy her modern, spacious apartment on top of the stunning new leisure centre at Living Choice Woodcroft.
Lynda is the first person to move into one of the six apartments on the top floor of the leisure centre and she received the “red carpet” treatment on arrival, with Living Choice director Graham Hobbs, village manager Steven Bielby and sales consultant, Katherine Stacey there to welcome her.
“It was lovely – they made me feel so special!”
Lynda says being so close to all the facilities in the leisure centre will encourage her to make full use of the facilities, including the gymnasium, indoor heated pool, library/computer room and the Wellness Centre. “I am looking forward to getting involved in the community and I also want to travel.”
Lynda and her family left Ireland in 1976 and emigrated to Adelaide. She worked most of her life in Community Services management, including for Churches of Christ, Mission Australia, the Salvation Army, NDIS and assisting those affected by domestic violence.
She lived in Hallett Cove for 19 years but found her two-storey house increasingly difficult to manage. “I heard about Living Choice about three years ago after seeing the signs. Kathy kept me informed about all the events and I toured the leisure centre and apartments while it was being built so I felt very involved in the process.”
She praised the Living Choice staff members for their support since moving in. “The village manager, Steven Bielby, has been very good and is the type of person who goes above and beyond.”
Of the six new leisure centre apartments, only one is available. To view, phone Kathy on 1800 502 524.
