Resident helpers thanked at Leisure Lea Gardens
In addition to the Resident Ambassador team at Leisure Lea Gardens, there are many residents who work quietly behind the scenes to enrich the lives of all who live and work there. They include those who stuff flyers into envelopes, put up flags, help run activities or events or who simply put their hand up when any assistance is needed.
To thank them, village manager, Linda Savige decided to personally cook them dinner and, assisted by sales consultant, Juliet Morrell, 38 residents were treated to a wonderful evening of delicious food, drinks and bingo. Linda, who first started at Leisure Lea Gardens as a cook in 2003, is well-known for her culinary skills and Juliet said the residents loved their home-cooked dinner of spicy chicken, lasagne and salads, followed by ice-cream cones. “It was a wonderful, fun evening and a great way to thank our resident helpers.”
