Residents dig deep at Leisure Lea Gardens
Leisure Lea Gardens’ residents always dig deep for the Biggest Morning Tea held at the village each year but this year, they excelled, raising $1,204 for the Cancer Council from donations and the two raffle prizes.
The 2021 event was also extra special as the Grade 8 pupils from Epping Boys’ High School’s Food Technology class provided the Morning Tea – and how delicious it was! Residents enjoyed freshly made muffins, mini quiches, a variety of gourmet sandwiches and fruit, beautifully served by the students who were accompanied by their teacher, Mitchell Leggo.
The residents also took the opportunity to present a gift to the village podiatrist, Donna Chalmers, who recently retired after looking after residents’ feet for 22 years. Congratulations to the raffle winners, Margaret Harrison and Wendy Stott and thank you, Leisure Lea Gardens’ residents for your generosity.
