Residents embracing technology
Many Living Choice residents have successfully adopted technology over time to make their lives a little simpler.
This year Living Choice partnered with Be Connected and IT 4 Retirees to arrange in-house technology lessons. With three different lessons offered over a few weeks, residents have gained more knowledge and confidence to use their devices.
Village Manager at Living Choice Twin Waters, Simone McKenna, runs weekly Afternoon Tea and Technology sessions in the village and said, “It’s wonderful to see residents embracing new technology. They are grateful to receive help and I love seeing them celebrate when they master it!”
Of course, with the digital world we live in now, we must be more vigilant with online scams becoming more prevalent. To protect yourself from online scams:
- Be cautious of unsolicited emails, messages or requests for personal or financial information.
- Verify the legitimacy of websites, organisations and individuals before sharing any information.
- Don’t click on suspicious links or download attachments from unknown sources.
- Use strong unique passwords for online accounts whenever possible.
- Regularly update your devices and software to protect against known vulnerabilities.
- If you suspect you’ve encountered an online scam, report it to the relevant authorities or platforms and take steps to secure your account and personal information.
