Residents gather for Legacy handover, and a farewell to Benita
Living Choice Kawana Island Residents gathered for Happy Hour in the Leisure Centre last Friday night to welcome Sunshine Coast Legacy Chair, Rhonda Poor, and Assistant Secretary, Linda Solomon.
The residents raised money during the most recent ANZAC Day commemoration from donated raffle prizes and a breakfast. Resident and ex-serviceman, David Reid, presented a cheque for Legacy in the amount of $1,650. Both Rhonda and Linda stood to accept the cheque and address the audience, giving heartfelt thanks and recounting stories of how much Legacy does for veteran families in the community.
This was soon followed by Village Manager, Russ Dunstan, taking the time to offer an endearing farewell speech to Village Receptionist, Benita Cheatley. Benita has been with the company for 9½ years and has built strong relationships with not only staff, but residents too.
When it was Benita’s turn on the microphone, she regaled us with stories about her time in the village, adventurous happy hours and how special it has been working in the village.
Wishing you all the very best in your retirement, Benita xoxo
