On a beautiful winter’s afternoon on the Sunshine Coast, Twin Waters residents met in their Leisure Centre for drinks at the bar before heading into the auditorium for a night of dancing.
Resident and social coordinator Pauline Doerfler and many helpers worked hard to ensure the auditorium was prepared with all the trimmings you’d expect from one of Pauline’s events. The tables were covered in yellow linen with pretty centrepieces, ivy and chocolates and a tasting plate of cheese, crackers, meats, dips and olives was set for all guests.
Janice Olley and Maree Christensen worked happily at the bar and Village Manager, Tracy Blair, kept residents in good company.
The band, Standing Room Only, has played at the village before. They are a talented group of friends and took to the stage not long after 6pm. They started with soft melodic songs then moved to more upbeat tunes. It was an eclectic mix of country, old time dance, and rock ‘n roll.
It didn’t take long for the dancers to take to the floor. Pauline said, “The band was excellent. Daz Innes is the lead singer and they’re all good blokes. They played a great selection of music, starting slow then kicked it up and everyone was dancing. There were no complaints, and everyone had a good time.”
Congratulations on an amazing event, Pauline.
Residents, look out for Pauline’s other events coming up: a bus trip to see Bjorn Again and another to see Menopause The Musical (because we all want to go through that again!).
