SA Gala Reward Event winners make the most of $5,200 prize

Wedding bells will soon be ringing for Chris Oflus and his partner Cathy, after they won a $2,600 UChoose Gift Card at this year’s SA Gala Reward Event. Meanwhile, fellow winner Karen McCall, who also won $2,600, will now be able to travel to the UK to see her daughter, after a five-year absence.

There was spontaneous applause after Chris and Karen decided to share the top prize valued at $5,200 when they were the “last two standing” in the exciting elimination draw featuring 25 referrers in the 2021-2022 Referral Draw.

Chris was entered in the draw after referring his mum, Beryl Corso to Living Choice Woodcroft. Chris and Cathy live at nearby Morphettvale and, after driving past the village one day, it was Cathy who suggested that Beryl move from Queensland to be closer to them.

Although Chris and Cathy have been together for 29 years, they have never got around to getting married because “other expenses always got in the way”. “Now we can afford to get married. The win was the icing on the cake of a wonderful day,” said Chris.

Karen also referred her parents, Alec and Brenda Green to the Woodcroft village. Karen lives around the corner from the village and often joins her parents for happy hours and other village events.

Held at Living Choice Fullarton – and organised by event supremos, Helen Bonet and Chris Murray – the SA Gala Reward Event was a wonderful and very happy event. The auditorium was beautifully decorated, the music by Kerin Bailey was perfect and the food by Castello’s Cucina was delicious. The smartly dressed barmen, Peter Radovic, Don Hogan, Leo Olbrich and Rex Cameron also ensured the wine, bubbly, beers and soft drinks flowed.

Both Living Choice directors, Graham Hobbs and Ian Tregoning, were able to attend the event with Graham delivering the presentation and Ian and pioneer Flagstaff Hill resident, Wendy Butler, doing the draw. Take a bow everyone – it was an exceptional event.
