SALA Opening Night Shines at Living Choice Fullarton

The Grand Hall at Living Choice Fullarton was alive with colour, conversation, and creativity as more than 200 guests gathered for the Opening Night of the 9th annual Art Expression @123 Fisher, part of the 2025 SALA Festival.
From the moment guests arrived, they were greeted by the warm smiles of resident ambassadors and the soulful piano playing of Kerin Bayley, setting the tone for a truly special evening. The light-filled gallery showcased an extraordinary collection of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, photography, and textiles – each piece telling its own story and reflecting the talent of artists from across South Australia.
Nature’s Providore delighted guests with exquisite finger food and fine wines, while conversations flowed between artists, art lovers, and community members.
The official proceedings began with Darren Ward introducing the evening’s host, well-known Adelaide personality Keith Conlon, who welcomed the crowd with his trademark warmth and wit. Living Choice Director Graham Hobbs then took to the stage, acknowledging the unwavering support of Fullarton residents in bringing the exhibition to life each year.
One of the night’s most exciting moments was the spirited auction, led by Victor Velgush from Refined Real Estate. Guests enthusiastically bid on four unique items, with proceeds helping to support future art initiatives at the village.
The highlight of the formalities came when SALA Board Chair, Alexandrea Cannon, officially declared the exhibition open, marking the start of nearly a month of artistic celebration.

The night concluded with heartfelt thanks to sponsors, volunteers, and the dedicated Art Focus and Art Expression teams, whose efforts ensure the exhibition continues to be one of Adelaide’s most anticipated SALA events.
Following the formalities, guests enjoyed another round of delicious canapés, a glass of wine, and more time to explore the artwork and connect with the creators.
The Art Expression @123 Fisher exhibition is open daily from 8–31 August in the Grand Hall at Living Choice Fullarton. Visitors are invited to enjoy this month-long celebration of creativity, connection, and community.
