Sharing the love at Central Coast Gala Reward Event
If you were one of two entrants left in a draw to win the first prize of a $5,000 gift card or a second prize of a $200 gift card, would you accept an offer to split the prize and win $2,600 each?
This was the dilemma facing Living Choice residents, Trish Kull and Robert and Christine Douglas at the annual Central Coast Gala Reward Event held at Alloura Waters on 20th September.
With 24 referrers in the elimination draw and just two remaining, Living Choice director, Ian Tregoning, threw the “cat amongst the pigeons” and offered them the opportunity to split the total prize value. Surprisingly, they took their time to confer before agreeing to share the $5,200 on offer!
The Gala Reward Event draw is held annually to reward those who have referred a friend or family member to a Living Choice village. The “settlement sources” are tallied for the financial year and the 2021-2022 referral rate topped 61 percent, a new record.
This year, it was the turn of the Alloura Waters’ Resident Ambassadors, led by Carol Peel, to organise the décor, catering and entertainment - and they excelled! The room looked festive in red, gold, silver and black to match the newly renovated community centre and bar. There was plenty of food and drinks and the resident band, The GunnaDoers, played a medley of old favourites that added to the festive mood.
Both winning referrers live at Broadwater Court. Trish Kull has a beautiful apartment overlooking the water at Waterfront Estate and referred her friend Helen Cashman, who moved into a villa – also at Waterfront Estate. Trish and Helen met through playing bridge in Pearl Beach many years ago and while Helen still plays bridge, Trish now spends her time playing bowls and golf.
Robert and Christine Douglas were visited by their Sydney friends, Pam and Dave Roberts, who decided they wanted to live at Broadwater Court too. They joined the waiting list but when a waterfront apartment became available at Alloura Waters, they snapped it up.
