Smiles all round as Glenhaven residents resume Tai Chi

Last Saturday Living Choice Glenhaven residents were able to practice Tai Chi for the first time after many months of lockdown.

Resident Harry Kensell said, “The first class back was a great success with 16 in attendance and most stayed for coffee and a very noisy, happy chat afterwards.”

Tai Chi, pronounced tie-chee, was originally developed for self-defence, and has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions.

Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. The practice is performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.

If you’d like to participate in the next class, please contact the office for more details.
