South Lakes Golf Club welcomes Southern Group Vets

The Southern Group Veteran Golfers travelled to picturesque South Lakes Golf Club at Goolwa on the Fleurieu Peninsula for their monthly game on 14^th August. South Lakes is close to picture-perfect beaches and is home to the popular Birdie Bistro, where the golfers enjoyed a great lunch after the game.

Southern Group Vets’ Secretary, Dennis Ray, said everyone enjoyed a wonderful day at South Lakes with 97 players attending.

“The course was in excellent condition and the weather was great. The overall winner was Eric Abdilla with a good score of 37 points and the leading lady was Marie Wickstein with 32 points - well done,” he said.

“We also welcomed three new members - Robert Shore, John Mathieson and Geoff Ashby – as well as returning members, Rosie Player and Di Hewes.”

The next Southern Group Veterans’ game will be held at Wirrina on 11^th September. Congratulations to all the winners.
