Southern Group Vets host Club Championships
The Southern Veteran Golfers held a very successful Club Championship at the picturesque South Lakes Golf Club on 12th September with Chris Haywood taking out men’s championship and Marie Wickstein winning the ladies’ title.
There was a good turnout for the tournament which was sponsored by Living Choice and Gemtree Wines. “We had good numbers, the course was a picture and the weather was perfect. The lunch put on by Birdie Bistro was also excellent,” said President John Weeden.
Captain John Hudson thanked the club for the superb hospitality and said the course was in excellent condition. He thanked King Caddy Adelaide for the donation of the battery push buggy for the lucky draw. The winner was Daniel Carroll who bought his ticket from long-time member, Sheila Sales.
