Staff and residents show gratitude at Glenhaven

When Regional Manager Gail Eyres discovered Monday 21st September was World Gratitude Day, she immediately consulted her staff members at Living Choice Glenhaven to decide how they could show their gratitude to the 356 residents living there.

With just a couple of days’ notice, Gail ordered 356 cupcakes from their favourite bakery, Essence Patisserie at Rouse Hill and, together with Village Manager Namrata Bhandari, she visited every home in the village on Monday morning.

“We sent a memo to the residents on Friday, advising that we would be knocking on their door on World Gratitude Day to thank them for everything they do to make this such a happy, caring village,” said Gail.

Within a few hours, residents took to the village’s Facebook page to express their thanks. “Thanks to our office team for delivering cupcakes to all the residents for morning tea this morning to celebrate World Gratitude Day - we are all so grateful to be living in this beautiful village and for the very thoughtful gesture - they were delicious!” said Di Creed.

“I’m SO grateful to our staff who are delightful and so very kind,” said Anna Baxter, while Audrey Griffiths wrote “A special day to be grateful for all our blessings living in our happy village. The little cakes were a lovely surprise and enjoyed. Thank you, Gail and staff.”

Several weeks ago, the staff also installed a “Gratitude Wall” in the auditorium where residents could share their thoughts on “gratitude”. “The Gratitude Wall is looking wonderful with so many beautiful and heart-warming reasons the residents are feeling grateful, even during the challenging times of COVID-19,” said Gail. “Our staff members are also very grateful to be able to work at this beautiful village.”
