It’s all systems go for South Australia’s first fully integrated golf course and retirement community following the approval of the first stage comprising 42 villas at Living Choice Flagstaff Hill late last year.
Living Choice has now received formal notification from the Onkaparinga Council that no objections were received during the two-week appeals period.
It’s good news for both those who have expressed an interest in the retirement community as well as the golf club members, providing a significant cash injection to ensure the future viability of the club. In addition, leading golf course architect Neil Crafter of Golf Strategies has been appointed to upgrade the course.
Living Choice Flagstaff Hill will consist of 162 new homes (42 villas and 120 apartments) plus a beautiful new clubhouse boasting numerous facilities.
Living Choice General Manager, Jason Sack, said Living Choice would start awarding contracts for the construction of the 42 villas immediately, with earthworks scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2019. “If there are no delays with weather, we expect that our first villa residents will be able to move in before Christmas 2019.”
He said Living Choice Flagstaff Hill would have a hugely positive impact on the local community, not only providing much-needed employment during the construction phase and thereafter but affording golf club members and local retirees the opportunity to live in a modern, safe, secure community.
“When the next stage comprising the new clubhouse is approved, both the retirement village residents and members of the public will have access to a wide range of facilities, including superb areas for functions, a Wellness Centre, indoor heated pool and hair salon,” he said.
The Planning Application for the second stage of the development, comprising the clubhouse and apartments, is on track to be lodged at the end of February.
