Tailem Bend Golf Club rolls out the red carpet for Lower Murray Vets
Members of the Lower Murray & Hills Veterans’ Association look forward to their game at a different course each month, enjoying great camaraderie, the opportunity to test their skills on various courses and, of course, a hearty lunch afterwards. In July, the members descended on the Tailem Bend Golf Club and they were really well-looked after, tucking into scones, jam and cream plus coffee and tea on arrival, and then a huge hamburger for lunch after the game.
Colin Stevens of the LM & H Vets said the 9-hole course was in very good condition and a credit to the club’s dedicated team of volunteers. “It rained just as we were about to hit off but it soon cleared to a cool but clear day. Thank you to Living Choice for its continued support. We gave out 3 dozen balls and all winners received a towel with their prize,” he said.
Congratulations to the overall winner, Joy Page, Division 1 winner, Graham Young and Division 2 winner, John Field. Other prize-winners were Division 1 - 2nd Damo Maloney, 3rd Bruce Agnew; Division 2 – 2nd Kirsty Page, 3rd Lyle Seyfang.
The next monthly game will be held at Thaxted Park on 15th August.
