Mitcham Felters showcase their talent

The June Art Expression@123 Fisher exhibition, featuring the work of the talented Mitcham Felters, opened at Living Choice Fullarton on 19th May and was an immediate success, with many items snapped up on the night.

The exhibition area, in a corner of the restaurant, was filled with a stunning array of garments, scarves and jewellery made by members of the Mitcham Felters group. One of the members is Fullarton resident, June Short, who inspired the group to exhibit their work.

The Mitcham Felters use textiles to create works of art plus a range of everyday items. Although wool is the basis of their works, other textiles are incorporated into each piece, such as silk, viscose, polyester and many other synthetic materials.

Many members of the group attended the opening sporting their wearable art and looked just as colourful as the exhibits!

The exhibition was opened by artist Jill Argent OAM, who teaches art at the village. The exhibition is open until 30th June and is well worth a visit.
