Team-building at Mount Barker

What’s the best way to get your team excited about Living Choice’s first Over 50s Lifestyle Community, Living Choice Mount Barker? Load the staff members onto a bus, give them showbags, drive them to the site and then treat them to lunch at an award-winning hotel afterwards!

Regional Manager, Katherine Stacey, said that with good progress being made on the sales office and display home at Living Choice Mount Barker, it was time to get the SA team excited about the new project in a fun and novel way.

The SA team members on the trip included Group GM, Jason Sack, Sales Consultants, David Brookman and Sue Lock, Village Managers, Vanessa Elmslie, Julia Jaremko and Frances Parolin and Sales & Marketing Assistant, Teresa Allan.

Katherine said each staff member was given a bag with treats, water and a mystery envelope. On the way there, she tested them on their knowledge of Mount Barker and the surrounding area. Apart from visiting the sales office under construction, they also visited the newly opened Aston Hills Shopping Centre in Heysen Boulevard and the Woolworths supermarket and school, which are currently being built.

“They were very impressed with our display home, the location of the site and the many facilities nearby. We talk about Living Choice Mount Barker at our weekly meetings but now they have a better understanding of how wonderful this lifestyle community is going to be,” said Katherine.

Afterwards, the team travelled to Murray Bridge to have lunch at The Bridgeport Hotel, which is also owned by Living Choice directors, Ian Tregoning and Graham Hobbs. The hotel won “Overall Hotel of the Year – Regional” at the Australian Hospitality Association’s National Awards for Excellence in 2022.

At the lunch, the staff members were invited to open their mystery envelopes and Julia Jaremko won a prize. Katherine said the lunch was excellent and that the hotel was well worth a visit.
