Broadwater Court

If you had asked me if I had envisaged spending my retirement in a retirement village, my response would most definitely have been No! But a few months of retirement in Sydney and the isolation I experienced initially, and a very converted Central Coast friend found me looking at villages here on the coast.

On walking into Living Choice I knew immediately that was where I wanted to live. Almost a year later, with the blessing of my family, I became a resident and almost 5 years later I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I have a wonderful group of friends and have become a representative for residents in the village and a confirmed Central Coast resident.

A big thankyou to the amazing team at Living Choice who made our uncle’s transition into independent living; with lots of surrounding support to aide in keeping him that way, seamless!

The whole experience was very low stress, we were assisted throughout the process. Starting with Dave navigating the purchase, Kerry and Toni in the office, lovely neighbour’s and others, checking in throughout the process to assist both us and Marcus.

The assistance hasn’t ended there. The community within Living Choice is active and vibrant, with lots of resources available to suit a broad range of needs for all residents. Highly recommend!

Thanks again, Lisa Shelton

A big thankyou

We moved to Queensland from South Australia about two years ago. Originally, we planned to buy our final house somewhere on the Sunshine Coast and didn’t seriously think about a retirement village. Once we started looking for our next house, we also started to learn about retirement villages and after looking at a few villages we discovered how many lovely villages there are.

We were staying near Twin Waters and just happened to hear about Living Choice Twin Waters. After our initial visit and a tour of the village we were hooked. What is not to like about a village with its own Leisure Centre, swimming pools, bowls green, gym and cinema, to name a few, and we have a wonderful team managing the village.

We love being in the centre of the Sunshine Coast only half an hour to Noosa, Caloundra and Maleny. There are so many choices whether dining, walking on lovely beaches, listening to music or going to shows and we can always leave the hustle of daily life and return to our quiet village.

We quickly realised this was exactly where we are meant to be.

Life at Deepwater Court is the life my husband and I dreamed of. It was the best move we ever made moving in nearly 8 years ago. We have never looked back as we have all that you would want in retirement living, good neighbours, exciting social life and a wonderful managed village to be proud of.

The life I dreamed of

Alloura Waters

Eleven years ago Wayne and I decided to make the move to Retirement Living. We looked from Port Macquarie down the coast to Forster, Nelson Bay and finally the Central Coast. We looked at a lot of villages and actually paid a deposit on Brentwood.
We were to meet with David Grassby however we rang him and advised of our decision on Brentwood. He then encouraged us still to come and have a look at Alloura, it was the best decision we have ever made. He showed us through the village and a unit he had in our price range. We walked in and even though it was to be refurbished we new we had found our forever home. Alloura Waters Village has a heart and soul, it’s home and when we drive up the driveway from wherever we have been, a warm and wonderful feeling takes over.
We have made so many true friends and really enjoy all the Social Activities provided by the Social Committee, we even have our own band. We also have a great bar which is patronised by many at our Friday and Saturday Happy Hours and boy do we get Happy!
We have many activities and our hard working Committee Members look after any issues should they arise.
Wayne and I often sit in our lounge room and know we are truly blessed to live in such a happy place, Our Home!

Alloura Waters

Ken & I moved here in October 2015. We lived at Forster and decided it was time to move to a Retirement Village. We searched north from Forster and then came south. After looking at over 10 villages, we drove into Alloura Waters, looked at each other and said this is it.

We wanted a 2 bedroom, but nothing available with a possible 1-to-2-year wait. As we were about to leave Dave Grassby — Sales — called us back and said I have one I can show you. It is a one bedroom and supposed to be the new hospitality villa. We looked at it with our dog Harry who approved of the good-sized yard, so we said OK we will take it. Panic set in as we drove away — our house was not on the market. It was Tuesday — Wednesday saw Real Estate Agent — Thursday saw Solicitor — Friday on the market. Saturday 10am SOLD. Alloura Waters was meant to be.

As a couple we happily spent 6 years here. Made many friends who we came to call our other family. Got involved in Village life. We could garden if we felt like it, but the wonderful gardeners were always there for us. Maintenance again was there when it was needed, from changing a light bulb, fixing a lock, or replacing any appliances when they broke down — hot water service/microwave/oven — in other words staff are always there. From Manager to office staff and outside staff they were always there with a smile and courteous. We have our own bus, public bus outside the gate and a ferry at the end of the street. Our own library fully stocked with hundreds of books to cover all tastes. Cards and backgammon are other activities along with the pool table. Not to mention our bar and of course our Alloura Waters Band who have everyone singing and dancing when they play.

Alloura Waters has a reputation as being very social. This we found to be true — Happy Hours every Friday and Saturday nights and special events almost every month.

Ken passed away in March 2022 and the support from staff and residents was unparalleled. I am very fortunate to live here with my other family and continue to be involved with committees and activities and life in my forever home is GREAT.

My wife Ann and I moved into Living Choice Mountain View Estate, just over five years ago. We are both keen international travellers spending many days on Camino paths in Europe. The Villa we bought is ideal as we can simply walk out the door and go away for 2-3 months without worry, knowing that our home is safe and secure.

When at home we enjoy the tranquillity of the village plus the many facilities such as the Gymnasiums, pools, and libraries. In addition, the proximity to many walking trails, including Kincumba Mountain, plus the Kincumber Shopping Centre, all within walking distance of our Villa is a huge bonus. On top of this we find the staff extremely helpful and friendly.

My late husband and I moved to LC Twin Waters 17 years ago. Due to health issues, he felt it best to be in a Retirement Village. We had looked at some villages from Sunshine Coast to Brisbane but Living Choice Twin Waters ticked all the boxes.

The villas are well-appointed and are perfect for retiring years. I have found great camaraderie amongst the residents and Management and staff. There have been a couple of changes, but they have always been obliging.

There are lots of social activities, which I love, along with bowls and crafts. I have no doubt any prospective resident will love it as I do.

Ticks all the boxes

Broadwater Court

I have lived in a villa in Living Choice Broadwater Court retirement village in Kincumber for about 5 years. I moved here with my dog when I sold my house. It is a good arrangement as I can live independently and my villa is maintained with nice gardens. There is security of living in a community, we all look out for each other and the village team is available when I need help. For me Broadwater Court is conveniently close to a range of services I use, including healthcare, the shopping centres, social places such as cafes, a hotel, clubs and a public library. I have joined a local ukulele group and the village cycling group and walking group. Looking to the future when I no longer drive, I may need to use the village bus service to the local shopping centres and other venues.

Twin Waters

There is a lot that I love about living here at Living Choice Twin Waters. We can walk across the road to a great restaurant, coffee shop, medical practice, pharmacy and a small grocery store. I can walk to Mudjimba (patrolled surf beach) in 35 minutes. It is a closer walk to the canals and the Maroochy River where I enjoy seeing all the wildlife (birds like rainbow honeyeaters and kingfishers, kangaroos, fish and rays) that live here too.

In our previous house I felt isolated and lonely in suburbia. Since moving here almost three years ago, I have made some really good new friends and never feel lonely. I love being able to walk to the many regular dinners and movies in our Leisure Centre knowing I only have to walk 100 metres home. I look forward to Book Club each month and would not miss Trivia night if I can help it – Go the Deadbeats!

A big thank-you to every one of the Living Choice Twin Waters staff members who are friendly, caring and eager to help in any way they can. It is a great relief to hand over home maintenance and lawn mowing but also wonderful to still be able to garden in our yard as well as grow our own veggies in our community garden plot.
