The Christmas spirit is alive at Kawana Island

As the sound of Christmas carols are starting to chime, Living Choice Kawana Island celebrated the start of the festive season with a Christmas market and delicious food.

As the clock hit 9am, the residents Kawana Island started to make their way to the Leisure Centre to enjoy a morning of socializing. As everyone walked through the door, they were greeted with the opportunity to purchase tickets to go into the draw to win a few Christmassy hampers.

Looking around the room, there were tables filled with everything you can imagine. Handmade stuffed toys, gorgeous Christmas cards, kiddies’ aprons, knitted coat hangers, Christmas tree decorations and the appearance of Santa and Mrs Claus.

The residents enjoyed a festive morning tea that consisted of coffee, tea, and all things sweet.

This isn’t just a normal Christmas market - when the day comes to an end, all the goodies that are left are then donated to St Vincent de Paul Society to be sent to those who are less fortunate. When it is all done and dusted, the resident elves will be busy handcrafting goodies so they can do it all again next Christmas season.

Everyone needs a little Christmas spirit at this time of year and Living Choice Kawana Island is the perfect place to start.
