`The Good Times Girls’ host a night of black and white indulgence

The Good Time Girls – Pauline Doefler, Glenda Bretton and Aileen Ryan – threw a different type of party on St Patrick’s Day at Living Choice Twin Waters: a black and white night supper dance with a strict formal dress code.

It was the perfect evening – soft pink sunset over the water, bar open at 5, residents arriving dressed in their finest, champagne on arrival, and the candlelit ballroom beautifully decorated in the background.

Pauline, Glenda and Aileen had planned this evening carefully since the start of the year and it was agreed to serve supper at the late hour of 8pm. Special thanks to helpers Midge, Maree, Janice and Robert.

Sixty residents had a magical night of singing and dancing to local band, Standing Room Only. They started the night playing Irish songs under a green light – in celebration of St Patrick’s Day – then picked up the pace and had residents on the dance floor in no time. They played old pop songs, country, and then slowed to the smooth melodies of Dean Martin.

Supper was a great success and included individual nibbles boxes on the table, fancy sandwiches, little cakes and delicious chocolates.

Pauline said, “Everyone made such an effort in their appearance, and they all said that it was so nice to get dressed up and to go out. The band was fabulous – everyone loved them.”

Well done on a spectacular evening, GTG!
