The travel stars align for Penny at Central Coast Gala Event

When Penny Lucas decides where she wants to travel with the $5,000 HelloWorld travel voucher she won at the Central Coast Gala Reward Event, she will have plenty of good advice from her travel agent mum Avril. Coincidentally, Avril – who lives at Living Choice Alloura Waters with her husband, Peter - also works for a HelloWorld branch!
Penny’s name was drawn as the 2019 winner at a fabulous lunch attended by more than 100 people at Alloura Waters on Friday 26th July. The travel voucher is awarded in each region annually, to reward successful referrers for referring a fellow resident, family member or friend to a Living Choice village.
“My sister moved into a retirement village in Melbourne and it piqued our interest,” said Avril. “We mentioned it our daughter Penny when she visited us one weekend and she hopped on the internet and we did some research together.”
Sales consultant Dave Grassby said he received a call from Penny and she accompanied her parents on their first tour. “They are lovely people – Penny so deserves the prize,” he said. Avril and Peter moved into their waterfront apartment at the end of January and are happily settled. Peter is a keen bowler and enjoys playing at the adjacent Davistown RSL & Bowls Club while Avril, who has been in the travel industry for 20 years, still works at HelloWorld in Umina Beach.
Congratulations also to Jim and Valmai Murch, resident referrers from Living Choice Deepwater Court, who won the consolation prize of a $100 gift voucher.
This year’s gala event was organised by Carol Peel and her hard-working ambassador team and the guests raved about the magnificent décor and delicious two-course lunch. Living Choice salutes Carol and all of the helpers – what a wonderful event!
