Twin Waters residents come together for those in need
It's the season for giving and this is especially true for the residents of Living Choice Twin Waters who are embracing the Christmas spirit. Every year, the village residents host a Christmas Morning Tea but due to COVID-19 restrictions, two events were held on the same day – Tuesday 8th December. The Christmas tree was up, the Christmas inspired nibbles were served to the tables and the room was full of conversation and laughter. Both sessions were a great success, and the community spirit was heart-warming.
This year, the events were extra special as they coincided with the ‘Trees of Hope’ project, an initiative by The Shack Community Centre of Nambour. Residents were invited to donate non-perishable goods for singles, couples or families and The Shack was overwhelmed with the donations that were given and the amount of money that was raised.
Donna Dowling of The Shack was there to thank the residents for their generosity and collect over 315.85kg of goods, as well as a jaw-dropping $4,347.50 that was gifted through donations and raffles. A massive thank-you to the generous residents, Twin Waters Pharmacy for donating two hampers, the Lawson family for the donation of 4 bottles of wine and a Loose Goose Restaurant voucher and Living Choice Australia which donated two Loose Goose vouchers and hampers. Also, a big thank-you to Ian and Maree Lawson who have been great ambassadors for The Shack Community Centre and have inspired the residents to dig deep for a great cause.
