Veteran golfers descend on Royal Pines
Living Choice Parkwood has been a loyal sponsor of the Parkwood Seniors & Veterans’ Golfers for the past two years. Recently, the retirement village company spread its wings, supporting the Northern Gold Coast & Districts Veteran Golfers’ Association at the September tournament held at the Royal Pines Championship course.
Sales Consultants, Michael Levick and Vickie Lea, both attended the event to promote Living Choice Parkwood’s apartments which are currently under construction in Napper Road, overlooking Parkwood Golf Course. In addition to sponsoring some prize vouchers, they donated umbrellas and golf balls and did an on-course activation.
Derek Montague, President of the District Vets, said everyone enjoyed the day. “The course was in very good condition and the greens were generally regarded as being fair and appropriate to our cohort,” he said.
“In total, 93 players took part, including 16 ladies. We were delighted to welcome 28 visitors from “out of district” representing 11 different clubs or groups from as near as Emerald Lakes and as far aways as Wodonga, Victoria,” he added.
The Northern Gold Coast & Districts’ Veteran Golfers’ Association has a proud 30-year history and hosts monthly games to encourage friendly inter-club activities. The Association is part of the Queensland Veterans’ Golf Union and the Australian Veterans’ Golf Union and has been awarded the 2025 State Championships as well as the 2026 National Championships.
