VIEW Club’s fashion parade raises $2,000 for needy students
Karen Grabau Reports
A combined attendance of 95 ladies and one brave gentleman from Living Choice Twin Waters and the Twin Waters VIEW Club recently enjoyed a fashion parade and delicious high tea at our beautiful Leisure Centre. It was such a great atmosphere. Six VIEW club models casually walked around the room dressed in lovely outfits from Michelle K Boutique allowing the audience an opportunity to touch and feel the gorgeous fabrics. After the parade the doors of the hall were opened revealing the room that had been transformed into a beautiful boutique with racks of clothing and accessories and the all-important red SALE banners. Attendees went mad trying to find ‘that perfect outfit’ and rummaging through racks of sale items before disappearing behind the screens to try them on.
Many thanks go to Village Manager, Tracy Blair, and the Living Choice Village community who supported and attended this event. A very special thanks also goes out to Resident Ambassadors, Thelma Richardson, Dorothy Blythe and Jean Hoy for working tirelessly in the kitchen and behind the scenes to ensure that everything ran smoothly, and everyone was happy. And finally to Ian Lawson who miraculously produced a working microphone - what would we do without him?!
The proceeds raised from this event was a whopping $2,000 which will go directly to the support and sponsorship of the Twin Waters VIEW Club’s six ‘learning for life’ school students. These students are from Australian underprivileged families who are registered with the Smith Family.
