`Village Guru’ impresses at Leisure Lea Gardens Open Day

Deciding whether to move into a retirement community is one of the most important decisions in one’s life – there are costs to consider when you move in, while you live there and when you leave.

To assist people to make an informed choice, Living Choice has implemented the Village Guru software across all its villages, including Leisure Lea Gardens in Marsfield, where the designer of the software, Rachel Lane, spoke at a fully booked Open Day on Thursday 10th August.

Sales Consultant, Anna Ginters, said Rachel was “brilliant”. “The information she provided was 100 percent useful and there were lots of questions afterwards,” said Anna.

Rachel is a well-known speaker and her articles are published in major metropolitan newspapers and on Downsizing.com.au. She has co-authored a number of books with finance expert Noel Whittaker, including the best-seller Aged Care, Who Cares? and Downsizing Made Simple.

At the Open Day, 10 of the books were given out in the lucky draw, along with wine, a $60 hair voucher from the onsite hair salon and two `fish and chip lunches’ in the onsite dining room.

Anna said the Resident Ambassadors played a vital role at the Open Day, serving Morning Tea and talking to guests about life in the village. “Once again, resident Sarah Lee-Joe did us proud, making delicious fruit cake and her famous scones.”

After Rachel’s presentation, guests were taken on tours of the apartments currently available. Several people also booked follow-up appointments to obtain their free Village Essentials Report using the Village Guru software.
