Wirrina Cove welcomes Southern Group Veteran Golfers
One of the great advantages of belonging to the Southern Group Veteran Golfers’ group is that you have the opportunity to play at a wide variety of golf courses. In the past year, the Southern Vets have travelled to Victor Harbor, Echunga, South Lakes, Willunga, Murray Bridge, Mount Barker and McCracken.
On 11th September, they travelled to Wirrina Cove Golf Course, which offers spectacular views over St Vincent’s Gulf and the rich countryside of South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula.
Secretary, Dennis Ray said everyone had a wonderful day with 74 players attending. “The course was in excellent condition and the weather was great. Thank you to Toni and Phil O’Sullivan for inviting our group to Wirrina,” he said.
“Congratulations to the overall winner, Robert Coulthard, who had a good score of 38 points. The leading lady was Lisa Gray with 32 points – well done,” he added.
The next monthly Southern Vets’ game will be played on 9th October at Murray Bridge, where Living Choice recently purchased land to build an Over 50s Lifestyle Resort.
