Living Choice Twin Waters residents were today treated to an exclusive tour of Estia Health Twin Waters, a residential and respite aged care residence located adjacent to the village.

Estia Health Twin Waters will open its doors to the public in September and an Open Day for the public will be held this Saturday 26th August at 10am. Judging by the comments at today’s residents’ tour, it’s set to get a big tick of approval on the Sunshine Coast.

The opening of the 5-star, 114-bed aged care residence marks the culmination of a dream by Living Choice directors, Graham Hobbs and Ian Tregoning, who set the wheels in motion nearly five years ago. Living Choice sacrificed 23 villas to ensure the village residents could enjoy all the benefits of co-located care.

Mr Hobbs said he had been motivated to seek an aged care operator because some residents had expressed concern that if they or their partner required a greater level of care, they would have to live remotely from the village. “Having Estia’s co-located aged care residence has alleviated this concern and residents from both our Twin Waters and Kawana Island villages have priority access, subject to the usual assessment criteria.”

Mr Hobbs said it was well-accepted that retirement villages which had co-located aged care were in greater demand, resulting in higher resale values, and this would further benefit residents.

Although Estia Health owns and operates the facility, Living Choice’s construction division was engaged to build the magnificent two-storey complex. For enquiries about Estia Health Twin Waters, phone 1800 471 135.
