The start of a new year can only mean one thing at Living Choice Fullarton, new and exciting monthly art exhibitions at Damien On Fisher! The February exhibition opening night attracted over 80 people, including residents and artist guests.

Award-winning Adelaide Hills textile artist, Mary Williams of Summertown, kicked off the first exhibition for 2020 and her work is brilliant. A lifetime of sewing and traditional patchwork and quilting has given Mary many skills and techniques to use in her textile art, but exploring new ways to achieve the desired result adds to her creative resources. Mary uses hand-dyed and commercial fabrics as a base, threads and stitching to create another layer and three dimensional flowers, leaves and other shapes to finish a piece. This exhibition shows the continuing use of nature and man-made objects as a source of inspiration whether worked in a representational or abstract manner.

As always, the catering was supplied by Damien and his team and the liquid refreshments was supplied by Living Choice Fullarton resident, Helen Hammond and the Art Exhibition Committee. As a result of the exhibition, the restaurant was fully booked with the lamb rack special proving to be very popular, sold out in fact.

Mary’s work is on display daily in the Damien on Fisher Exhibition area until the 3rd March.
