One hundred and twenty six residents, family and friends gathered at Living Choice Fullarton on 29 April for an evening of fun and frivolity. The event was the third annual Quiz Night conducted by resident quiz master Kevin Pearson.
The mood swung from euphoria, as more than half of the teams recognised all 30 faces presented in Round 1, to frustration as they tussled with tricky True/False questions in the deciding round. Members of the winning table had been trailing their main rivals by one point for most of the evening but were able to score bonus points for correcting false statements. Victory was by the narrowest margin possible.
The winners, Topsy and David Evans, their daughter and son-in-law, Judy Fanning, Ed Argy, Joan Hill and Julie Roderick were fortunate in that the team was formed literally at the last minute. Two tables were amalgamated when some of their original players, at short notice, were unable to be present.
In between rounds of questions individual prizes were on offer for a variety of games which generally required more good luck than anything else.
The evening raised $1,960 which will be shared between the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Alzheimer’s Association and a group of cancer charities.
