Over the years, a special bond has developed between Living Choice Deepwater Court residents and the children at Guliyali Pre-School, which is situated within the grounds of the Woy Woy Public School, across the road from the village. That strong bond was very evident when the children visited the village on 7th May for an enjoyable Mother’s Day Morning Tea.
Resident Thea Brayshaw, who is the primary contact between the school and the village, said it had been a lovely morning. “Everything went well and everyone enjoyed it. The children were the icing on the cake. It was too wet to take them outside so we kept them near the front door and they sang a little song and gave each lady a gift of a necklace and a Chrysanthemum.”
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, eight Deepwater Court residents were visiting the pre-school once a week. “We spend an hour with the children and it is most enjoyable. The school has even made a video and a booklet of us with the children. We are looking forward to starting again on the 19th May.”
