“Verry Elleegant” fashions at Fullarton
Living Choice Fullarton residents and guests can always be counted on to don their finest outfits for the Melbourne Cup luncheon hosted by the village’s onsite restaurant, Damien on Fisher. Appropriately, this year they were very much in step with the famous race’s winner, `Verry Elleegant’, with elegant, colourful fashions taking centre stage at the popular annual event.
Over 60 residents and guests attended, looking every bit as fashionable as the Melbourne racegoers shown on the big screen. One lucky resident, Elaine Melhuish, not only won on the horses but her table ticket was first out of the hat to win an overnight stay at the new Bridgeport Hotel in Murray Bridge, which is owned by Living Choice directors, Ian Tregoning and Graham Hobbs.
Damien Hein and his staff once again delivered an excellent two-course lunch - chicken or steak followed by chocolate and raspberry soufflé or apple tart with cream. The cost included an “all you can drink” alcohol package so the noise level in the hall was reaching a crescendo by the time the barrier went up.
Congratulations to Anne Klaffer who won a L’Occitane beauty pack valued at $130 for the Best Outfit, Jo Cooper who won a $100 Damien on Fisher voucher and bottle of bubbly for the Best Hat and June Short who was presented with a bottle of bubbly by the restaurant staff for Overall Best. Two guests also won a Haigh’s Box of exquisite chocolates for winning the Best Dressed Couple prize.
Congratulations to the resident organisers and restaurant team for another successful and enjoyable Fullarton event.
